CMF stands for Color-Material-Finishing, which encapsulates the combination of color, material, and surface treatment. It represents an industrial design approach that integrates color, texture, and finish as elements of the design process.
The purpose of surface treatment for sofa leg products is to meet the requirements for corrosion resistance, wear resistance, decorative appeal, or other special functions.

Sofa Leg Painting and Powder Coating
Painting refers to the process of adhering paint in liquid form to the surface of the substrate to form a coating.
Powder coating involves the application of powdered paint to the surface of the sofa leg substrate through electrostatic attraction, followed by melting and curing to form a coating.
Generally, the thickness of the coating from painting is not as substantial as that from powder coating, but painting offers more flexibility in color adjustment, which is more complex for powder coating. Since painting uses liquid paint, it has certain organic volatility and toxicity.
The application of painting is very extensive, not only for the surface treatment of everyday plastic products but also for metal products. Painting can be applied to metal surfaces to achieve an aesthetic and anti-oxidative, anti-corrosive effect. Here are some examples of products that use painting for surface treatment.
In the painting surface treatment process, Pantone color cards can also be selected.
Plastic products often require post-processing painting. Common painting treatments for plastic product surfaces include: chameleon paints, silver electroplating paint, solid color paint, metallic paint, conductive paint, and rubber paint, among others.

Electroplating
Electroplating is the process of using electrolytic principles to plate a thin layer of another metal or alloy on the metal surface of the sofa leg. It is a technique that uses electrolysis to attach a metal film to the surface of metal or other material components, thereby serving to prevent metal oxidation (such as rust), enhance wear resistance, conductivity, reflectivity, corrosion resistance (such as copper sulfate), and improve aesthetics.

Sofa Leg Electroplating Effects
1. High-gloss Electroplating
The high-gloss electroplating effect typically requires a well-polished mold surface, and the injected sofa leg plastic parts are treated with bright chrome to achieve the effect.
2. Semi-gloss Electroplating
The semi-gloss electroplating effect typically requires a well-polished mold surface, and the injected plastic parts are treated with semi-bright chrome to achieve the effect.
3. Pearlescent Chrome
The pearlescent chrome electroplating effect typically requires a well-polished mold surface, and the injected plastic parts are treated with pearl chrome to achieve the effect.
4. Textured Electroplating
The textured electroplating effect typically requires the mold surface to be treated with different textured etching methods, and the injected plastic parts are treated with bright chrome to achieve the effect.
5. Combination Electroplating
On the mold, there are both polished and textured parts, and after electroplating, the plastic parts exhibit a combination of high-gloss and textured electroplating effects, highlighting certain local features.
6. Local Electroplating
By using different methods, the surface of the finished part is partially left un-plated, creating a contrast with the plated parts, forming a unique design style.
7. Colored Electroplating
By using different electroplating solutions, the metal deposited on the surface of the plastic parts after electroplating will reflect different lusters, creating a unique effect.

Sofa Leg Sandblasting Process
Sandblasting is a process that uses compressed air as a power source to form a high-speed jet stream, which sprays abrasive materials onto the surface of the workpiece to be treated at high speed, causing changes to the exterior appearance of the workpiece. Due to the impact and cutting action of the abrasive on the workpiece surface, the surface of the sofa leg obtains a certain degree of cleanliness and different roughness, thereby improving the mechanical properties of the workpiece surface.
This enhances the fatigue resistance of the sofa leg, increases its adhesion to the coating, prolongs the durability of the paint film, and also facilitates the leveling and decoration of the paint.

Sofa Leg Brushing Process
Surface brushing treatment is a surface treatment method that forms lines on the workpiece surface by grinding the product, serving as a decorative effect. Since surface brushing treatment can reflect the texture of the metal material of the sofa leg.
